Router (TP-Link Archer C5400)
24-Port Gigabit Switch
Access Points
Ethernert Cabling (Cat6)
Server
3.2 Topology
For setting up a successful gaming café, selecting a reliable and flexible network topology to arrange the devices of a communication network is important. Since the shop lot size is limited to 15’ x 25’, the star topology is a suitable topology as it enhances the best use of a limited space. In star topology, each device is connected to a central switch. This helps in reducing the total amount of cabling needed, avoiding waste of space and making network management easier. Its centralised structure can reduce latency and improve network performance. Also, the failure of one link only affects the device connected to that link. It ensures that the failure of one link does not impact other devices and therefore the stability of the network is maintained in the gaming café.
3.3 Communication media
Wired :
Connects the router, switch, PCs, server, printer, and access points.
Provides reliable, high-speed connection for gaming and printing services.
Wireless :
Enables mobile users (laptops, phones) to access internet.
Dual-band support ensures better bandwidth management and reduced interference
